Kate Scully, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA, Director of Audiology

Kate Scully received her Doctorate in Audiology in 2011 from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences. She has been practicing audiology since receiving her master's degree in 2005 from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Dr. Scully completed her post master's clinical fellowship year at the University of Michigan Medical Center in the Department of Otolaryngology & Audiology in 2006. During this time, she completed rotations in hearing aids, pediatrics, cochlear implants, vestibular testing, intraoperative monitoring, electrophysiology, and newborn hearing screening. She earned her undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Science from The George Washington University in 2002. Her professional interests include hearing aids, adult diagnostics, assisted listening devices, otoacoustic emissions and ototoxic monitoring, hereditary/syndromic hearing loss, and newborn hearing assessments. She also gained additional experience working with children with special needs including children with autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and auditory processing disorders when she was employed at the former Spectrum Center in Bethesda, MD.

Dr. Scully is licensed by the Maryland Board of Examiners for Audiologists. She is also nationally certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA). Dr. Scully has been with Hearing Center Silver Spring since 2006.

Megan Glascock, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA

Megan Glascock, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA received her Doctorate in Audiology from Towson University in 2009 following the completion of a one-year clinical fellowship at Virginia Ear, Nose & Throat Associates in Richmond, VA. During her one-year fellowship, Megan gained experience with adult/pediatric diagnostic hearing evaluations, electrophysiological testing, adult/pediatric hearing aid fittings, vestibular testing and newborn hearing screening. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Towson University in 2005.

Dr. Glascock is currently a member of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA). She is nationally certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the Maryland Board of Examiners for Audiologists. Dr. Glascock joined Hearing Center Silver Spring in June 2009.

Audrey Adams, Au.D., CCC-A

Audrey Adams received her Doctorate in Audiology in 2008 from the Ohio State University. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Adams worked as a pediatric and educational audiologist at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary after completing her one year clinical fellowship at Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children in San Antonio, Texas. Her professional interests include assistive listening technology, electrophysiology, hearing aids, and pediatrics.

Dr. Adams is licensed by the Maryland Board of Examiners for Audiologists. She is also nationally certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Dr. Adams joined Hearing Center Silver Spring in 2012. She is currently employed part time/per diem.

Alicia Hutchins, Au.D., FAAA

Alicia Hutchins received her Doctorate in Audiology in 2006 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology. She has been practicing Audiology since receiving her master's degree in 1999 from the University of Maryland's Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. Her professional interests include newborn hearing assessments, pediatric and adult diagnostics, assistive listening technology, and electrophysiology.

Dr. Hutchins is licensed by the Maryland Board of Examiners for audiologists and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). She has worked at Hearing Center Silver Spring since 2003. She is currently employed part-time/per diem.

Phyllip Taylor-Alonso, Au.D.

Phyllip Taylor-Alonso received his Doctorate in Audiology in 2015 from the University of Minnesota. He received his doctorate after completing a one year internship at Island Audiology, a private practice in Honolulu, Hawaii. He practiced at Island Audiology for two years after graduating. While working with the company, he principally worked with veterans, performing hearing testing and fitting hearing aids for adults.

Dr. Taylor-Alonso has also trained at the University of Minnesota's Craniofacial, Cleft Palate, and Velocardiofacial clinics, as well as the Health Partners Ear, Nose, and Throat clinic. In 2017, Dr. Taylor-Alonso moved to the Washington, D.C. area and began working at the George Washington University, where he principally works with adults to perform hearing testing and hearing aid fittings. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Spanish from St. Olaf College in 2006. In addition to his doctorate, Dr. Taylor-Alonso received a Bilingual Emphasis certificate and speaks fluent Spanish.

Dr. Taylor-Alonso is licensed by the States of Maryland and Washington, D.C. He is nationally certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). He joined the Hearing Center Silver Spring in 2018 and is currently employed part time.
